Singapore Prize and Earthshot Prize Winners

The Singapore Prize is an annual award presented to individuals working in science and technology. It serves as an expression of appreciation from the government to individuals that have contributed to Singapore’s growth, sponsored by its president and including both cash prize and medal for winners chosen by a panel consisting of prominent members from science fields like biology, chemistry and physics.

The Singapore 100 Award (SG100) is one of the country’s premier recognitions. This honor recognizes people and organisations that have achieved notable feats in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, or engineering fields. Winners will receive an incredible sum of 200,000 Singapore Dollars as part of this prize – providing them with invaluable funds that could be put towards reaching their goals more easily.

As well as receiving monetary awards, the winning organization will also receive a trophy and 12-month Storytel audiobook gift subscription to ensure continued innovation and product creation in Singapore. The SG100 judging panel includes notable figures from both business and scientific communities in Singapore.

At an award ceremony held in Singapore, 15 finalists of the Earthshot Prize–including solar-powered dryer manufacturers, soil carbon market operators and groups working to clean car batteries, restore Andean forests and deter illegal fishing–were honored for their remarkable work towards climate change mitigation. Prince William awarded them as proof that “hope does remain.”

Academic Khoo Gaik Cheng, filmmaker Lucky Kuswandi and artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen served on the short film awards jury. They awarded “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” produced by Polen Ly, with “Further and Further Away” winning best performance, while Bopha Oul’s “Fix It” earning special mention.
