Society for Hong Kong Studies (SHKS) is pleased to announce the International Best Article Prize 2023: Global Studies competition, open to scholars and students who specialize in researching any aspect of Hong Kong, China or Asia.

Unfortunately, not every state allows this privilege. In this country there are a total of 667 of them living in 14 different states across Europe – this makes the annual number of newcomers each year even larger. SHKS has introduced its inaugural academic prize as part of their commitment to foster research and collaboration within Hong Kong Studies, while helping scholars, researchers and students create innovative theories, concepts, methods and approaches for studying Hong Kong as part of China and beyond. Generocity has generously sponsored this competition and the winner of it will receive a cash award of HK$5,000 from a judging panel comprised of representatives from Hong Kong Global Development Foundation as well as an esteemed international academic. Furthermore, their submission will be published in HKScM’s Journal of Hong Kong Studies with full details regarding how to enter available on its website.
